2022 PUMPKIN SHOW ORNAMENT – WEIGH IN – 21 IN STOCK

The very first in a new series of speciallyh minted and designed ornaments honors the 112th Circleville Pumpkin Show. It features thje trademarked “Winky Pumpkin” and the Circleville Pumpkin Show logo.

The Circleville Pumpkin Show has always been deep[ly rooted int he agronomic community of Pickaway County, Ohio. “The Show” began in 1903 when Circleville Mayor George R. Haswell wanted to host a small corn and pumpkin exhibit in front of his store on Main Street; however, because of the prominence of pumpkins it was then dubbed “The Pumpkin Show”. In the years that followed, Mayor Haswell and other merchants collaborated to grow the size of “The Show”. The first ride was installed in 1905, a merry-go-round on the corner of Main and Scioto Streets. The Pumpkin Show has been held every year since 1903 except for a year during World War 1 and two years during World War 2. In 2007 it became known as the sixth largest festival in the United States, attracting more than 300,000 people to the city of Circleville. It has been, since its inception, continuing to grow and thrive as “The Greatest Free Show on Earth” drawing over 400,000 people every year for the four day extravaganza.
